Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Explaining Martial Law & Marcos Sr.’s Regime

BONGBONG MARCOS – The former Senator revealed how he explained martial law and the regime of the late dictator to his children.

One of the 10 candidates for president in the upcoming May 2022 Elections is former Senator Bongbong Marcos, the second child and the only son of the late dictator Ferdinand Edralin Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

Marcos Jr. is running under Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP). Undeniably, he has a controversial candidacy that was challenged by several petitions seeking for his disqualification from the presidential race.

The presidential bid of the former Senator ignited the issues surrounding Martial Law and the regime of his late father, his educational background and his tax charges, and the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the Marcos family.

Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos married Atty. Louise Araneta-Marcos. Their marriage is blessed with three (3) sons – Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, Joseph Simon Marcos, and William Vincent “Vinny” Marcos.

Recently, in an interview with CNN’s Ruth Cabal, the former Senator was asked how he would explain the Martial Law era to millennials and the “Gen Z” generation.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he told his children that their grandfather, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., “had to do” it considering the situation during that time.

Marcos Jr. claimed that they were fighting a war on two fronts – the secessionist from the south and the rebels in the countryside. He stressed that the government had to defend itself from the people who wanted to bring it down.

The presidential candidate also revealed that he told his kids that there were people who were angry at their grandfather because they wanted to replace him. He expressed that it was the same explanation he got from his uncle.
