Did Andrew E receive any payment after performing during the BBM-Sara rally?
ANDREW E – The legendary hip-hop artist was accused of being “bayaran” or paid after performing during the rally of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The rapper who’s popular for his hit single, “Humanap Ka Ng Panget” was canceled by some netizens after his performance at the said rally.
In some videos on social media, Andrew E can be seen singing his songs in Guiguinto, Bulacan where the BBM-Sara rally took place.
As a result, some netizens on Twitter could not avoid criticizing the rapper for supporting BBM-Sara.
“From Andrew E. to Andrew Eww,” said a Twitter user with the handle name @brightwin_4ev3r.
Some netizens even claimed that Andrew E was paid to perform for BBM-Sara.
“Andrew E performed for money. Whereas, artists and performers who go to rally Robredo and her team do have their talent fees waived,” @iamjuandiego225 noted.
Meanwhile, not everyone on Twitter criticized the rapper, some even defended him.
The singer has yet to issue any statement to confirm if it is true that the camp of Marcos and Duterte paid him to perform in the said event.
It can be recalled that among those who were canceled for showing support to the BBM-Sara tandem were Toni Gonzaga, Karla Estrada, and several other celebrities.
Andrew Ford Valentino Espiritu or Andrew E started his career as a DJ in a popular club, Euphoria.
He was discovered by guitarman Ramon “RJ” Jacinto in 1991.
He made his television debut on That’s Entertainment, a variety show hosted by the late German Moreno on GMA-7.
His career skyrocketed when he released the single, “Humanap Ka ng Panget”. He then starred in comedy films.
