Nueva Vizcaya COVID-19 Patients Include 5-Year-Old Child
5-YEAR-OLD CHILD – A female child in Nueva Vizcaya tested positive for the 2019 coronavirus or COVID-19.
Currently, there is a total of 1,546 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines. Officially called as COVID-19, the said disease was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) as pandemic.
The impact of COVID-19 is far beyond what was expected of it. The said disease which caused the locking down of several countries took over 33,000 lives globally.
Currently, over 750,000 cases of coronavirus were recorded across the globe. Most countries are fighting hard to contain the spread of the disease which can happen rapidly.
In the Philippines, quarantines now are implemented in several provinces, cities, and municipalities. It is to limit the movements of the people and contain the spread of the disease.
The senior citizens are the most vulnerable to coronavirus but no one is exempted. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a 5-year-old child in Nueva Vizcaya has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Nueva Vizcaya Inter Agency Task Force on COVID-19’s Dr. Edwin Galapon, the female child was initially confined in a hospital in Cabanatuan for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).
Based on the report, the 5-year-old child was having fever so a swab test was taken and tested. The result came out that she is positive for COVID-19.
Currently, it is still a question on how the child contracted coronavirus. According to the doctor, they are living in an area that is not crowded and she has no travel history abroad.
Also, the child has not visited Manila. The authorities are looking into the possibility that the child got the disease during their travel to the hospital.
