Samsung Philippines Names Minsu Chu As New President

Minsu Chu is now the new President of Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation.

SAMSUNG — The South Korean tech giant recently named Minsu Chu as the new SEPCO (Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation) President.

According to a report on Gizguide, Chu has more than 20 years of experience including 11 years in Samsung Electronics and most recently held the role of President of Samsung Electronics New Zealand.

Also, Chu had been SEPCO’s business director from 2014-2018 and his new role as SEPCO’s president was his comeback to the country.

The company claimed that Chu’s appointment came on the heels of “a robust business performance” of Samsung Philippines amidst the pandemic.

Chu was aiming for a stronger synergy between its different business units Mobile, Digital Appliances, and Visual Display in order to reflect Samsung’s ongoing commitment to creating new and meaningful experiences for customers.

In a statement, Chu said that he’s very pleased to return to the country which he had long considered as his second home.

This country has immense potential with its dynamic economy and a large and young population,” said Mr. Chu. “Even with the unprecedented global crisis, the country has remained resilient and has already shown signs of strong recovery, putting economic growth back on track.

He also said that they needed to strengthen their operations and capabilities in order to be more responsive to the changing consumer sentiments and habits to cement their leadership in the local consumer electronics industry.

The South Korean tech firm also announced a newly merged Device eXperience (DX) Division, which comprised the Digital Appliances Business, Visual Display Business, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, Health & Medical Equipment Business, and Networks Business.
