BONG REVILLA — Here’s what the chairman of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats said about Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Lakas-CMD membership.

Lakas-CMD party chairman Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. said on Thursday that his party was more than honored that Mayor Sara chose to become a member of the party.

According to the senator, they have worked with Mayor Sara in the past and continued to be allies in a coalition with Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).

Mahaba na po ang kasaysayan ng LAKAS sa paglilingkod-bayan,” Revilla stressed. “Our Christian-Muslim-Democratic principles have guided our members in the past three decades, and we continue to build a proud legacy for the country.”

Revilla also said that his party was giving its all-out support to whatever endeavors Mayor Sara wanted to do.

According to the senator, they will work to assure Mayor Sara’s success and triumph, which will also be the success and triumph of Lakas-CMD, of the nation, and of all Filipinos.

Following her resignation from her regional party HNP, Mayor Sara attended the wedding of Senator Revilla’s daughter in Cavite with presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr as part of a group of wedding sponsors.

Mayor Sara took her oath as a member of Lakas-CMD before party president and House of Representatives Majority Leader Martin Romualdez after the wedding.

Romualdez was the cousin of Bongbong Marcos, the presidential aspirant under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) banner.

Also present in the wedding ceremony was Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, the standard-bearer of the Cusi-led Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party.
