Here are the 5 senatorial candidates under the slate of VP Leni Robredo
LENI ROBREDO – The incumbent vice president named the five (5) senatorial aspirants under her slate.
According to the presidential candidate, she was given “free rein” by opposition coalition 1Sambayan to choose senatoriables under her slate.
Robredo revealed the names of her senatorial slate who came from different groups and political parties in a press conference.
The congresswoman-turned-vice president is the chairperson of the Liberal Party. However, she will run for president as an independent candidate in the coming elections.
Senatorial aspirants running under her slate are Senators Risa Hontiveros and Leila de Lima, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and former Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat.
The ex-Ifugao representative will be filling the slot of Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who was picked by Robredo as her running mate in the coming polls.
Aside from Pangilinan, setting aside in the senatorial bid is former Senator Bam Aquino, who will lead the VP’s presidential campaign.
Meanwhile, the filing of COC kicked off on Friday, October 1 and it will end on October 8. The filing for national posts (president, vice president, and senator) is being held at the Harbor Garden Tent inside the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila compound in Pasay City.
The Commission on Elections will post a tentative list of candidates on October 29.
On the other hand, the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022. The nationwide elections are scheduled to be held on May 9.
