Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez have confirmed that they will be switching places in Ormoc.
Leyte Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez and Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez have confirmed that they will be switching places in the 2022 national elections.
In a Facebook post on Thursday by the City Government of Ormoc, Richard and Lucy had posted their lineup for the Ormoc Development Team (ODT). This discounted the possibility that Lucy, who was currently on her last term as representative of the 4th district of Leyte, will run for senator.
Lucy had been included in the initial lineup of Senators Panfilo Lacson and Senator Tito Sotto, and the Cusi-led PDP-Laban slate endorsing President Rodrigo Duterte for vice-president.

Vice Mayor Toto Locsin’s father Leo Carmelo Locsin, Sr. will run for vice-mayor, while Councilor Vince Rama will run for board member for the 4th district of Leyte replacing his wife who will be running for councilor.
Their candidate for councilors include incumbents Lalaine Marcos, Jasper Lucero, Nolito Quilang, Goito Yrastorza, Perok Rodriguez, and Roiland Villasencio.
The new candidates for councilor include the following: BM Carmen Jean Torres-Rama, former PBA player Rey Evangelista, Burt Pades, and city health officer Dr. Edmund Kierulf.Gomez,
On his second term as mayor, Richard earlier refused to run for a national position, citing that their focus was in Ormoc City and the 4th district.
He also said that although a higher office was appealing, he wouldn’t force Lucy to run for senate but will respect her decision where she could serve the people more.
“What she wants is where she could serve best. We’re still thinking about it and I am just here to support whatever her decision is,” Richard said.
