June quarantine classifications to be announced on the last day of May
The new quarantine classifications will be announced on May 31 according to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
In a radio interview, Nograles said the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases already has a recommendation for the next quarantine classification.
The new quarantine classifications will take effect next month (June).
“Binigyan na po natin ng pagkakataong mag-appeal ang ating iba’t ibang governors or local chief executives doon sa ating recommended na bagong community quarantine classifications,” he said.
“After that, ibibigay natin kay Pangulo ang final recommendation. Ia-announce natin sa Monday kung ano ‘yung magiging community quarantine classification for the month of June,” he added.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an online press conference that the quarantine status in June might be “relaxed.”
“Everything else being considered, there is a likelihood na mas magluluwag ang ating quarantine classification,” he said.
“So, I guess by way of conclusion there’s a likelihood that the quarantine classification might be relaxed on the basis of formula,” he added.
