Updates on Philippine Air Force helicopter crash in Bohol
PAF – A helicopter from the Philippine Air Force crashed on Getafe town in Bohol on Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021.
According to PAF spokesman Lt. Col. Maynard Mariano, the MD-520MG was on a maintenance flight from Mactan Island when it crashed on the shoreline of the said town at around 9:40 a.m.
“We can confirm that we have a downed aircraft in the vicinity of Bohol,” he said.
However, PAF has yet to issue any information about the condition of the passengers on board the helicopter.
“Right now, it’s still under investigation,” the PAF spokesperson said.
UPDATES:
- 1 dead and three (3) were injured after the incident.
- The fatality was identified as Captain Aurelios Olano, who’s the pilot of the PAF chopper.
- Those who were injured were rushed to the President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Hospital.
- The PAF helicopter crashed due to mechanical failure.
Early this year, a helicopter from the Philippine Air Force on board 7 passengers crashed in Bukidnon, killing all of its passengers.
