Furthermore, she noted that the national growth rate has decreased to negative six percent from the past two weeks compared to the 53% from about a month ago.

Based on an article from Inquirer, de Guzman noted:

“After analysis of our data, one of the things we saw is that our national growth rate is showing signs of decrease, meaning ang narereport pong kaso (the reported cases) nationally in the past two weeks have slowed down”

However, she emphasized that even with the downtrend, the country shouldn’t let its guard up when it comes to the virus. For Central Visayas, de Guzman said the increase was primarily focused in Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue.

Meanwhile, in Cagayan province, Isabela and Santiago City have shown increased COVID-19 numbers. Moreover, Davao City has seen a spike in healthcare utilization rates in their medical facilities. But, she said that the overall healthcare utilization in the region is still in the safe zone.

Currently, the Philippines has reported a total of 541,560 coronavirus cases with an additional 1,345 reported Wednesday. Of that number, 30,188 were classified as active cases.
