According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, Galvez and other officials met earlier in the day in order to discuss the vaccine simulation held on Tuesday.

Earlier, Galvez said that there’s a need to minimize the movement of COVID-19 vaccines after noting that the pallet shook on the airport lifter during the dry run.

Definitely minimal [movement] lang as much as possible. ‘Yung effect niya sa paggalaw, ‘yung effect niya sa temperature, dapat lahat ‘yan at the minimum lang,” Vergeire said.

A vaccine simulation was staged in order to prevent wastage. The exercise began with the arrival of dummy vaccines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and ended with their delivery to different hospitals.

The first batch of COVID-19 vaccines, which was expected to arrive this month, would be spread out across hospitals in Davao, Cebu, and Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health said that the DOH still didn’t have a confirmed date for the arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines and when vaccinations may start.
