Filipino mother of Hollywood actor Rob Schneider passes away
Hollywood actor Rob Schneider paid a tribute to his Filipino mother who passed away on Monday, January 11.
Rob, 57, is the Filipino-American actor-comedian-scriptwriter who became famous on the long-running American comedy variety show, “Saturday Night Live.”
Rob Schneider is best known for starring in films such as Grown-Ups, The Benchwarmers, The Hot Chick, and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
On Tuesday, January 12, Rob announced in an Instagram post the death of his mother Pilar Monroe Schneider, 91.
Rob Schneider shared a photo of himself with his mom Pilar, who was sitting in a wheelchair, alongside his daughters Miranda and Madeline.
In the caption, Rob says his mother has passed away “peacefully after spending a perfect Sunday evening family dinner surrounded with loved ones at her side.”
He then recounted the life of his Filipino mom who’s a World War II survivor in the Philippines.
According to Rob, Pilar’s family allegedly migrated to America in the 1950s after she graduated from the University of Sto. Thomas.
“Pilar not only survived, she thrived, getting her master’s degree as a reading specialist and was elected to the School board in Pacifica California getting more votes than Bill Clinton,” he said.
It is said that Pilar worked as a teacher for three decades.
