Lyca Gairanod on choosing education over singing career: “Wala naman akong paghihinayang”
Lyca Gairanod shared that she didn’t regret that she decided to return to school even though it caused her singing career to slow down.
This, as she decided to return to school after winning the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines last 2014.
According to her, it’s better for her that she was able to study because she’s more ready to work and to do showbiz.
“Di po kasi natin masasabi kung magtatagal tayo sa showbiz, eh, kaya inayos ko po muna yung pag-aaral ko. Wala naman po akong panghihinayang na ano… kasi ready naman po akong bumalik,” Lyca said.

Lyca also clarified that she wasn’t jealous or insecure with the rapidly-growing career of JK Labajo and Darren Espanto who were her batchmates in The Voice Kids.
She still reiterated that it was her choice to prioritize her studies considering that she’s already in eighth grade.
Knowing that Lyca was already 16 years old, she shared that she wasn’t ready to have a lovelife as it wasn’t the “right time” yet.
“Mas uunahin ko muna yung career at yung pag-aaral ko. Yon muna ang mas magiging priority ko kasi yung love life nandiyan lang naman yan,” Lyca said.
Lyca had recently signed an exclusive contract with Viva Artists Agency.
