Tiangges, bazaars, mall sales now allowed in Quezon City under its latest GCQ guidelines.
The local government of Quezon City had allowed to hold mall sales, bazaars, tiangges, and similar activities in the city under its latest GCQ guidelines.
However, those activities should be done preferably in naturally-ventilated indoor venues or in open-air spaces.
On Wednesday, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte issued its latest general community quarantine (GCQ) guidelines, reflecting the expanded scope of allowable economic activity under Memorandum Circular No. 20-57 s. 2020 of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
According to the local government of Quezon City, the new guidelines aimed to help revitalize the economy and to provide a safe environment during the Christmas season amidst the pandemic.
“With our active COVID-19 cases now on a downward trend, we are now pushing various activities during the holidays that will open and jumpstart the economy and give livelihood to our citizens”, Belmonte said.

Belmonte encouraged them to hold those activities in naturally-ventilated indoor areas or in open-air spaces in order to help prevent the coronavirus from spreading.
With this, Belmonte said that the city would be having a safe and meaningful Christmas celebration.
Under the latest GCQ guidelines, mall sales, tiangges, bazaars, and similar activities were allowed. However, these activities should be subjected to minimum health protocols in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The local government also said that the organizers of the said events were required to log all attendees for contact tracing purposes and were strongly urged to use a digital contact tracing method such as SafePass.
The city’s Law and Order Cluster, barangays, regulatory departments, and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) were tasked to ensure that the latest guidelines were strictly enforced.
As of 4:00 p.m. of November 3, the Department of Health had recorded 1,772 newly-reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 387,161.
