Veteran Director Al Quinn Dead At 86

Veteran director Al Quinn died at the age of 86.

Veteran director Al Quinn on Saturday, October 24, 2020 (Manila Time) died at the age of 86 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

However, the cause of his death was still unknown as of this writing.

In a report on PEP.ph, entertainment writer Noel Ferrer confirmed the said news about Al Quinn’s death in his Instagram account.

As seen in the caption of his post, he said thanked the veteran director for being a happy part of his 30 years in media.

Veteran director Al Quinn was one of the pioneers of directing in the entertainment industry as he was best known for directing movies starring the late Comedy King Dolphy in the 1970s such as “Ay, Manuela”, “The Good Father”, and “Jack and Jill and John”.

Al Quinn had also launched the likes of German Moreno, Nora Aunor, Carmen Soriano, and Alma Moreno into stardom.

He was also a long-time director of Star Awards for film and television, Binibining Pilipinas, and other events in the Philippines.

His final directorial work in the country was the 62nd FAMAS Awards that was being held at the Solaire last 2014 wherein a surprise farewell party was held for him after he announced that he’s migrating in the United States for good.
