Dingdong Dantes shared a strategy in order to prevent delivery rider scam.
Actor Dingdong Dantes shared a strategy in order to prevent delivery rider scam after numerous delivery scams had been reported and went viral on social media.
Proof of that is the recent incident that took place in Las Piñas City wherein Philnews.ph reported last September 16 that more than 10 food delivery riders had been victimized by a fake booking at a certain house in Pilar Village.
Most delivery apps had “cash on delivery” type of transaction which allowed the buyers to pay for their orders once they were delivered, prompting the scam.
In an interview on GMA live chat Kapuso ArtisTambayan last October 22, Dingdong said that there were a lot of heartless people who did that just to cheat others and that was the reason why they really tightened the safety measures in the said app.
According to him, their initial strategy was to present the app users with various payment options that fit the online business.
“So halimbawa um-order, we will make sure that we all have the possible payment gateways para do’n pa lang matapos na ‘yung order mo, para ma-confirm na bayad na, ide-deliver na lang. Hindi ‘yung pagdating [ng rider] do’n, hindi pala sa ‘yo ‘yung order tapos wala ‘yung magbabayad, ‘di ba“, Dingdong shared.
