DONALD TRUMP – The U.S. President stated that he is not satisfied with a new proposal from Iran, as peace talks remain stalled despite an ongoing ceasefire.
Iran reportedly submitted the proposal through Pakistan, though its contents were not disclosed. Trump attributed the delay to serious disagreements within Iran’s leadership and questioned whether the United States should continue negotiations or consider stronger military options, while noting that he prefers to avoid further conflict.
The conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran began after surprise strikes earlier this year, with active fighting now paused under a fragile ceasefire. However, tensions remain elevated as no significant progress has been achieved in diplomatic talks. Trump also informed lawmakers that hostilities have ended, despite the continued presence of U.S. forces in the region, prompting debate in Washington over the need for congressional authorization.
Iran continues to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil route, while the United States maintains pressure on Iranian ports.
