Anne Curtis Speaks Out After Singapore Trip, Questions Philippines’ Fight Against Corruption
ANNE CURTIS – TV host and actress Anne Curtis set social media abuzz after sharing an emotional and unfiltered reflection on corruption in the Philippines following her recent visit to Singapore.
Anne Curtis recently shared a bold and emotional reflection on the state of the Philippines, particularly on the long-standing issue of corruption, after a visit to Singapore. Through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Anne openly expressed her admiration for Singapore’s governance and its strict enforcement of anti-corruption laws, while lamenting the situation in her own country.
“Random thought whilst in Singapore – NAKAKAINGGIT SILA,” Anne wrote, setting the tone for her candid observations. She explained that after reading about Singapore’s history, she learned that the country also once struggled with widespread corruption before the rise of former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, who implemented a zero-tolerance policy against corrupt practices.

“Cut to this day, Singapore is thriving. A beautifully developed city, smooth roads, a gorgeous airport , proper public transportation, stunning infrastructure and yet I still see green around the city. Although, after reading, the temptation of greed from officials are still there BUT once they are caught they are punished immediately,” she said, highlighting the visible results of strong leadership and accountability.
Her admiration for Singapore quickly turned into concern and sadness for the Philippines. Anne raised heartfelt questions about the country’s future, voicing both frustration and hope.
“Paano na tayo Pilipinas? Ano na kaya mangyayari? I pray so hard we will all collectively vote for a leader who will want to fight corruption one day. Sana talaga. Sayang…Pilipinas. We have beautiful mountains, the best beaches and islands in the world (for me),” she shared.
Anne became more emotional as she reflected on how corruption continues to hinder the nation’s progress.
“GREED has stolen the opportunity for this country to reach its FULL beautiful potential. Sana.. Sana talaga one day. Maybe not in my lifetime but I pray for all the future Filipinos. But we have to stand up for that now. Haaaaay. Naiiyak ako,” she added.

Anne Curtis also reacted to a netizen’s post about the 2026 budget deliberations, specifically the issue of funds intended for healthcare allegedly being diverted through politicians first.
“Dami pala pera ng Pilipinas noh? But all the budget that should have been towards healthcare or education eh napunta sa luxury cars, houses and I’m sure that money is in offshore accounts now,” Anne said.
“So sad that we will never be able to get that money back. So sad that it will never be used for the better of the people noh?” she continued.
Many fans and netizens echoed Anne’s sentiments, expressing agreement and sharing their own frustrations over corruption, while praising her for using her voice to speak up about issues that deeply affect the nation.
