Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Update on Flood Control Investigation

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President announced the cancellation of the passport of former House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co.

Amid the corruption accusations against him, Zaldy Co refused to return to the Philippines. Instead, he resigned from being a member of the House of Representatives. He also released videos online which contained his allegations against Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Zaldy Co accused Marcos Jr. and former Speaker Martin Romualdez of allegedly inserting a P100-billion budget in the 2025 national fund. He also claimed that the President and the former House Speaker supposedly received a P56-billion kickback.

Amid the allegations of Zaldy Co against him, Marcos Jr. told Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines and face the accusations against him. Malacañang also challenged him to return and testify under oath. According to Palace press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro, Co allegedly wants the investigation to stop so tagged the President.

Zaldy Co did not only tag Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the budget insertion mess. He also took to social media the alleged budget insertions of presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos who supposedly inserted over P50 billion in just three (3) years.

After his son was tagged in the budget insertion issue, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the camp of Zaldy Co alleged tried to blackmail him. According to the President, the lawyer of the resigned House member supposedly reached out to him and offers to stop the release of videos online in exchange of the non-cancellation of Co’s passport.

”I do not negotiate with criminals. Kahit maglabas ka na ng video ng lahat ng kasinungalingan mo na pag-destabilize sa gobyerno. Gusto kong malaman mo Zaldy makakansela pa rin ang passport mo. Hindi ka na makakatakas sa hustisya,” the President said.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced the cancellation of the passport of Zaldy Co as per a report on GMA News. There are still no updates as to the current location of the resigned House member. A warrant of arrest against him was previously released but there was negative presence when the authorities tried to serve the document.

Previously, the lawyer of Zaldy Co denied the claim of Pres. Bongbong Marcos that Co’s camp allegedly tried to blackmail him.
