Atty. Harry Roque Gives Advice to Sen. Bato dela Rosa over Alleged ICC Arrest Warrant

HARRY ROQUE – The former Spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte claimed that the ICC arrest warrant against Senator Bato dela Rosa was “officially received” by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Last month, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has allegedly released an arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. The Senator who was the first chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the tenure of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte admitted his belief that the foreign court allegedly wants to have him arrested and investigated, too.

Since the Ombudsman’s claim over the supposed ICC arrest warrant against him, Sen. Bato dela Rosa was no show to the Senate sessions but Senate President Tito Sotto confirmed that he continues to receive his salary. The Senate Chief and the Senate Finance Committee chairman Sherwin Gatchalian claimed that senators are not under a “no work, no pay” rule.

According to Atty. Israelito Torreon, the legal counsel of Sen. dela Rosa, his client is not hiding. He claimed that the Senator is allegedly not hiding and might make himself available once the government has clarified its course of actions. Dela Rosa’s camp previously expressed their hope that the government will uphold the rule of law in case an arrest warrant was really out against him.

Recently, former presidential spokesman Harry Roque claimed that the ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa is out. The former spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands where he has an ongoing application for asylum.

Harry Roque is faced with an arrest warrant in the Philippines. He hid after the House of Representatives previously ordered his arrest in lieu of the investigation over his alleged ties with the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations.

Recently, through a post on social media, Harry Roque claimed that the ICC has allegedy longed release an arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. According to him, it was allegedly yesterday when the DOJ and the DILG officially received the document.

Previously, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto defended Sen. Bato dela Rosa for receiving salary despite his long absence in the Senate sessions.
