BREAKING NEWS: Marcos Jr. Orders PNP, DILG To Prepare to Arrest Sarah Discaya

Statement of Marcos Jr. on Contractor Sarah Disacaya

MARCOS JR. – The President ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to prepare to arrest controversial contractor Sarah Discaya.

The Office of the Ombudsman previously claimed that it is allegedly impossible for Curlee and Sarah Discaya to become state witnesses in the flood control issue in the country. The contractor couple was one of the owners of the construction companies flagged by President Bongbong Marcos for getting a big chunk of the country’s flood control deals.

The Discayas appeared before the Senate for the flood control investigation of the chamber’s Blue Ribbon Committee multiple times. It was the controversial contractor couple that first name-dropped some officials of the government over the alleged “kickback” system with regards to the flood control projects of the government.

Discayas Curlee and Sarah

During a Senate flood control hearing, Curlee and Sarah Discaya accused former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, resigned House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co, Pasig Cong. Roman Romulo, Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde, and Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro among others of allegedly receiving payoffs from the flood control deals awarded to their companies.

According to the Discayas, they allegedly had no choice but to ride the system. Amid the ongoing flood control investigation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, the contractors withdrew from cooperating with the ICI. According to the commission, their decision came after one of the ICI members claimed that none has yet to qualify to become a state witness.

ICI

Recently, amid the ongoing flood control investigation of the ICI, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the PNP and the DILG to prepare for the arrest of Sarah Discaya and other officials of the St. Timothy Construction. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, it is allegedly over a P96.5-million ghost project in Davao Occidental.
