Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Flaunts Christmas Giveaway of OVP Worth P2,100
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed her belief that P500 is allegedly not enough for the noche buena celebration.
The recent remarks of Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Christina Roque earned mixed reactions from the Filipino people. According to her, P500 is allegedly enough for the noche buena celebration. Truth be told that many Filipino families are having financial struggles now.
Amid the huge costs of many grocery items now, a lot of Filipinos slammed the DTI Chief over her remarks. As for actress and Quezon City Councilor Aiko Melendez, the P500 holiday meal budget is supposedly “unrealistic”. She claimed that it can allegedly purchase a ball of cheese but with the size of a marble.
On the side of Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, she stressed that it really depends on the budgeting strategy for the noche buena celebration. DTI Sec. Christina Roque backed her controversial statement saying that P500 is enough for the noche buena of parents with two (2) kids or a family of four.
The DTI Secretary further supported her claim by posting the price list of the agency. According to her, the said proposed budget can already include ham and spaghetti.
“Meron na po itong Christmas ham na PHP170. And then yung spaghetti, which is the spaghetti noodles and spaghetti sauce, so the noodles is PHP30 and PHP48.50 for the sauce so a total of PHP78.50 for the spaghetti,” Roque said.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte revealed her side on the claim of the DTI Chief that P500 is supposedly enough for noche buena. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the Vice President believes that the amount is allegedly not enough for the noche buena celebration for a long time now.
“Hindi totoo na kasya na ang Noche Buena sa P500. Matagal na na hindi kasya ang P500 pesos para sa Noche Buena ng pamilya,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also revealed the Christmas Package that the Office of the Vice President gives away. Based on the post, she claimed that it is allegedly worth P2,100 and it includes grocery items for cooking salad and spaghetti.
“In fact, ’yung sa amin na pinamimigay kapag Pasko, nasa 2,100 na ‘yun. Ano ’yun, spaghetti and ’yung salad pack,” Duterte added.
Amid the mixed reactions towards the claim of the DTI Secretary, the Vice President’s brother, Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte, slammed Malacañang’s Claire Castro over the P500 noche buena budget.
