Paolo Duterte Slams Malacañang’s Claire Castro over P500 Noche Buena Budget: “May sarili kayong imaginary shopping mall sa utak”

Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Believes P500 Budget for Noche Buena Supposedly Insufficient

PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman slammed Malacañang’s Claire Castro over the Department of Trade and Industry’s proposed P500 budget for noche buena.

Countless Filipinos reacted to the claim of the Department of Trade and Industry that P500 is enough for the noche buena celebration. Undeniably, many Filipino families are financially struggling now and the costs of most goods are high — not to mention the increasing inflation rate in the country.

Some Filipinos believe that there are indeed ways for P500 to be enough for the noche buena celebration as the DTI has proposed. However, on the other side, a lot of people believe that the said amount is no longer sufficient considering the high prices of goods now.

Amid the mixed reactions to the P500 noche buena budget, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that it really depends on the strategy to budget the noche buena celebration. Her statement earned a reaction from Davao 1st District Congressman Paolo Duterte.

Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte posted a statement on social media wherein he told “Ante Kler” that serving as a lawyer who offers notary services in Recto allegedly suits her better if she allegedly has that kind of mindset. According to him, it is supposedly evident that they have no idea about the real struggles of the Filipino people.

“Ante Kler, kung ganyan din lang ang level ng analysis mo, mas bagay siguro sa’yo mag-notaryo sa Recto kaysa mag-lecture sa taumbayan kung sapat ba ang ₱500 para sa Noche Buena. Kasi halata, wala ka talagang idea sa totoong hirap ng tao. Busog kasi kayo—hindi sa pagmamahal sa bayan—kundi busog sa korapsyon,” the Congressman wrote.

Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte also slammed the Malacañang press official over the P500 budget for the noche buena celebration and accused her of allegedly having an imaginary shopping mall in her mind. According to him, next time, she should allegedly try buying groceries from the street markets before she would supposedly insult the Filipino people.

“Madam, kahit ‘yung ham na kasing nipis ng konsensya ng grupo niyo, hindi na ‘yan kasya. Ang problema sa inyo, may sarili kayong imaginary shopping mall sa utak—lahat mura, lahat kaya, basta hindi kayo ang nagbabayad,” he said.

Based on the post, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte called on the press officer of Malacañang not to use her profession as a lawyer in allegedly downplaying the struggles of the ordinary Filipino families. He also called on Atty. Claire Castro not to insult the intelligence of the Filipino people. According to him, the P500 noche buena narrative allegedly symbolizes the kind of leadership that the current administration offers.

“Mukhang ham pero puro mantika, mukhang queso pero hangin ang laman, at mukhang serbisyo pero drawing lang,” the Davao Congressman stated.

Recently, actress and Quezon City councilor Aiko Melendez called out the DTI over the alleged “unrealistic” holiday meal budget.
