There is a holiday pay for employees who report to work during a regular holiday. In most cases, a 100% holiday pay based on the basic daily rate of the employee applies. In the case of government workers whose work is suspended during regular holidays, there is no deduction — the government workers will still be paid with their daily rate despite no work on the said day.
With regards to the special non-working days, based on the labor rules set by the Department of Labor and Employment or DOLE, employees who report to work on a special non-working day are entitled to receive a holiday pay that is equivalent to 30% of their basic daily rate. The “no work, no pay” applies during this type of holida.
