Palace Reiterates Promise of Pres. Bongbong Marcos on Flood Control Mess
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President vowed that a “big fish” is included in those who will be jailed due to the alleged flood control corruption.
Marcos Jr. previously claimed that he will pursue accountability as he was the one who initiated the investigation on the supposed flood control corruption in the country. Several government officials were tagged in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the country which triggered the so-called ‘Trillion Peso March”.

Aside from several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), several congressmen and some senators are currently accused of supposed flood control corruption. Previously, issue warrants have been released against several individuals who are accused of involvement in the flood control mess and Pres. Bongbong Marcos warned those who have flood control warrants of arrest as well as those who will help them hide from the authorities. He called on the accused to voluntarily surrender.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla recently reiterated the commitment of the Marcos Jr. administration for accountability amid the flood control mess in the country. According to him, all those who are guilty of flood control corruption will be behind the bars.
“Makakaasa kayo na ang gobyerno ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ay hindi umaatras sa hamon na ang mali, nagkamali at nagnakaw, lahat sila makukulong nitong 2026,” the DILG Secretary said.

Recently, Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez reiterated the “promise” of Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the flood control mess in the country. Based on a report on GMA News, he stressed that it has only been three (3) months since the President revealed the flood control issue and many individuals are already faced with charges.
“Ngayon tatlong buwan pa lang simula nung binunyag ng ating Pangulo ito at marami nang nakasuhan at marami pang makakasuhan at meron ng mga nakulong,” Gomez said.
The Presidential Communications Secretary also reiterated the promise of Pres. Bongbong Marcos that more individuals who are guilty of the supposed flood control corruption will be jailed before Christmas Day. Based on the report, he claimed that those who will be jailed include a “big fish”.
“Pangako nga ng Pangulo natin, bago mag-Pasko, mas marami pang makukulong. Kasama na diyan yung mga tinatawag nilang big fish,” the PCO Secretary said.
According to PCO Sec. Dave Gomez, it is important to have strong pieces of evidence in the building up of the case to ensure the conviction of those who are guilty of flood control corruption. Furthermore, based on the report, he stressed that it is necessary to get back the supposed loot from the government.
Amid the public’s call for accountability, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that flood control cases will be filed against former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in 6 to 9 months.
