How Does Kylie Padilla Do It? Actress Shares Her No-Yaya Travel Hacks w/ Two Energetic Boys
KYLIE PADILLA – Travelling abroad with two young kids and no yaya may sound overwhelming, but Kylie Padilla proves it’s possible with patience, preparation, and a lot of “mama mode.”
Kylie Padilla recently offered a heartfelt glimpse into her travel routine as a hands-on mom, revealing what it truly takes to explore foreign countries with her two young sons—without the assistance of a yaya. Through an honest Instagram post, the actress described how she navigates the challenges of parenting on the go, emphasising that the biggest key is being fully present.
As she wrote, “I get a lot of questions on how I handle two young kids while traveling to other countries and no yaya. Simple, full on mama mode ako.”

According to Kylie, the foundation of every trip is ensuring her children’s safety. She shared that she is constantly anticipating their needs, from keeping them well-fed during long walks to teaching them cleanliness along the way. She remains prepared “24/7 in how to handle a tantrum, or two at the same time,” acknowledging that emotional meltdowns are inevitable when kids are far from their usual routines.
Open communication also plays a major role in her parenting approach. Kylie explained that conversations with her children help her better understand “what they might be thinking and feeling because that matters too,” allowing her to respond to their emotions with more empathy and patience.
Managing their energy became another layer of the experience. She revealed that the “secret really is to give them their yes moments,” letting them run, play, and release their excitement. However, in crowded or high-risk environments, strict rules always apply. The boys must either hold her arm or stay close with an “anti lost rope,” ensuring they never drift far from her side.

Kylie proudly shared how her eldest son, Alas, stepped up during the trip. “I told him, ‘Ikaw kuya ha, so you have to help me with your brother.’ And he did.” He carried bags, pushed his maleta, watched over his younger sibling, and earned roller-coaster rides as a reward. She believes that “Parent child relationships work better when there is visible appreciation for each other’s efforts.”
Even little Axl contributed by following instructions, especially after a meaningful talk about the dangers of getting lost—an early but important lesson for young travellers.
