Regine Velasquez Furious at Authorities for Environmental Destruction & Typhoon Deaths
REGINE VELASQUEZ – A furious Regine Velasquez took to Instagram to slam government officials, holding them accountable for the devastation and loss of lives caused by Typhoon Tino.
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid did not hold back her anger toward certain government agencies following the tragic aftermath of Typhoon Tino, which brought severe flooding and devastation to parts of Cebu and other areas in the Visayas.
The powerful storm claimed the lives of nearly 200 people, while many others were injured or remain missing. The disaster has reignited public outrage over environmental destruction and alleged government neglect in disaster preparedness and ecological protection.

Through her Instagram account, the award-winning singer expressed deep frustration and disappointment over the continued degradation of the environment. In her post, she shared a video of the late former Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Gina Lopez, whose strong advocacy for environmental protection once stirred both support and controversy.
In the video, Lopez passionately declared, “If you kill the environment, you kill everything. 1/3 of the Filipino depends on our natural resources. Sino ang nagdudusa kapag winawasak ‘yong kalikasan? Sino?! ‘Yong mahihirap!” She had made this statement during a press conference in 2017, after the Commission on Appointments rejected her confirmation as Environment Secretary.
Lopez further stated, “And whose duty is it to protect the people? It’s the government. And when you make decisions based on business interests, you have shirked your responsibility. You have lost the moral ascendancy to rule the government because, to you, business and money is more important than the welfare of our people.”
Echoing Lopez’s sentiments, Regine delivered her own fiery message: “Sino ba ang nagbigay ng permiso butasin ang ating kabundukan putulin ang mga puno sirain ang karagatan!!!!!! SINO!!!!!! Hindi na natin maibabalik ito sa dating ganda. Sino pa ang magsasalba sa atin pag may bagyo. SINIRA NYO NA LAHAT PARA ANO SA KAYAMANANG HINDI NYO MADADALA SA HUKAY!!!!!!”

Regine Velasquez stressed that responsible agencies should be held accountable for their inaction and negligence, especially when it comes to safeguarding the environment and the lives of Filipinos.
In a scathing conclusion, she added, “Sa lahat ng sangay ng gobyernong walang malasakit ANG KAKA(P)AL NG MUKHA NYO KAYO ANG MAY KASALANAN SA LAHAT NG NANGYAYARI SA PILIPINO!!!!!!!!!”
Regine’s impassioned statement has since gone viral, resonating with netizens who share her anger and frustration over the repeated environmental tragedies that continue to claim lives in the Philippines.
