PAGASA Releases Update on Typhoon Tino as PH Expects Landfall
UPDATE ON TYPHOON TINO – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised signals numbers 1, 2, and 3 in several areas as the storm is expected to make a landfall.
Currently, countless Filipinos are monitoring the updates from PAGASA after Typhoon Tino, internationally known as Kalmaegi, entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The public is advised to do so for safety measures.

Yesterday, PAGASA said that Tino may hit Visayas in the next 48 hours. Residents of the coastal areas that were forecasted to be hit by Typhoon Tino were advised to evacuate for their safety. Several areas across the nation are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 due to Typhoon Tino. Based on a report on GMA News, areas that are under the TCWS No. 1 may experience strong winds with a speed of 39 to 61 km/h within the next 36 hours. According to PAGASA, it may pose minimal to minor threat to life and property.

Gale-force winds are expected in areas under Signal No. 2. The wind is expected to have a speed of 62 to 88 km/h in 24 hours. Based on the report, it poses minor to moderate threat to life and property. Here are the areas that are under TCWS No. 2:

According to the report, Tino was previously located at Guiuan, Eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center. The severe tropical storm has a gustiness of up to 150 km/h and central pressure of 975 hPa. The typhoon is moving west southwestward. PAGASA issued a storm surge warning in 30 areas in Visayas and Mindanao due to Typhoon Tino.
