How Robin Padilla & BB Gandanghari Finally Reconnected After So Long
ROBIN PADILLA – After years of silence and emotional distance, Senator Robin Padilla and his sister BB Gandanghari have finally rekindled their bond, proving that love and acceptance can heal even the deepest wounds.
Senator Robin Padilla has fully embraced his older sibling, BB Gandanghari’s identity as a transwoman. The actor-politician shared that it took him a long time to completely open his heart to his sibling’s transformation from Rustom Padilla to BB Gandanghari.
In an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Robin spoke emotionally about how far their relationship has come after years of silence and distance. Despite the challenges they faced in the past, he expressed joy that their bond has been restored and is stronger than ever.
“Na-miss ko siya, eh. Noong nag-out siya (as transwoman) hindi na kami nag-usap,” Robin admitted, visibly emotional while recalling their years of estrangement.
He continued, “Kaya noong dumating ‘yung time na naging close kami ulit, ‘yun pala ‘yung isang nami-miss ko sa buhay ko, ‘yung relationship ko sa kanya.”
Robin also shared that he now treats BB as his younger sister, despite being older than him. He explained that BB’s complete embrace of womanhood changed how he views her entirely.
In another interview, BB confirmed that Robin’s acceptance has been genuine and heartwarming. “Kapag nasa pila kami, ladies first. Nagpunta kami sa mosque sa Taiwan, naka-hijab ako, pumasok ako doon bilang babae and ano, nire-recognize niya lahat ‘yon,” BB shared, expressing gratitude for her brother’s respect and support.
BB Gandanghari first came out as gay during her stint on “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition” in 2006 and later publicly embraced her identity as a transgender woman. Over the years, she has lived her truth with pride and courage, continuing to inspire many with her story.
In July 2025, BB reached another milestone when she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Business from the Los Angeles Film School—an achievement that further highlighted her resilience and dedication.
