Pokwang Clarifies Her Message to Fyang Smith & Her Fans

Pokwang Gets Honest About Fyang Smith & Why Humility Matters in Showbiz

POKWANG – Veteran comedienne and actress Pokwang has spoken up about her real feelings toward rising star Fyang Smith, setting the record straight in a candid interview with Ogie Diaz.

Pokwang opened up about her real feelings toward rising star Fyang Smith during her recent guest appearance on The Issue is You, hosted by Ogie Diaz and Inah Evans. Contrary to what some may have assumed, Pokwang clarified that she holds no anger toward Fyang but felt disappointed by how some of the young actress’s fans reacted to her earlier advice.

According to Pokwang, her message was never meant to criticize Fyang but to serve as guidance rooted in her long experience in the entertainment industry. She explained that as someone who has spent over two decades in showbiz, she only wanted to share lessons that could help newcomers build a lasting career.

“Hindi ako galit kay Fyang. Galit ako the way i-handle nung mga fans niya ‘yung payo na binibigay. Gusto mo palang bigyan ng payo bakit mo dinaan sa social media? Saan ba siya na-ano, hindi ba sa social media din?” Pokwang said during the interview.

The actress stressed that she intended to encourage humility among new artists, reminding them that fame is fleeting and that good character is what truly sustains a career. “Realidad po ito… ngayon, ang pag aartista, taon-taon may bago, taon-taon may reality show, every month may bago ng bago.”

“Pero, yung maiiwan, yung ugali mo sa katrabaho mo sa industriya, yun yung magpapahaba para manatili ka dito,” she added.

Pokwang further explained that she has seen countless artists rise and fall throughout her 21 years in showbiz. Her goal, she said, was simply to share wisdom earned through experience—not to engage in online drama.

It can be recalled that earlier this year, Pokwang gave a piece of advice to Fyang following her viral moments. “My God iha 21 years na ako sa showbiz at ang sekreto BE HUMBLE iha yan muna ang pag aralan naka ilang PBB season na ang nasaksihan ko pero iilan nalang silang active sa showbiz so iha please wag muna mag yabang bad yan,” she wrote at the time.

Through her recent statements, Pokwang reaffirmed her commitment to guiding the next generation of stars with honesty and heart.
