MARCOS JR. – The President assured the foreign loan and aid providers that the government will not tolerate the wastage of public funds.

Countless Filipinos were disappointed by the supposed massive corruption in the Philippine government. In his latest podcast, Pres. Bongbong Marcos even claimed that he was shocked by the scale of corruption in the country.

The flood control mess in the country is allegedly a multi-billion corruption issue. Marcos Jr. even claimed that if the massive corruption continues, nothing will allegedly happen to the Philippines. He stressed that it should stop and the officials involved in the anomalies should be held accountable. According to him, resignation from office is not enough.

Recently, Marcos Jr. attended the Philippine Development Forum 2025. Speaking in front of the government officials and the global development partners including the foreign loan and aid providers, the President stressed that the government will not tolerate the misuse of public funds.

“We will not tolerate measurement without action, nor will we tolerate the wastage of public funds,” he said.

The Philippine government officials and the foreign loan and aid providers met to discuss the things that could be done to help the country become an upper-middle income nation. Marccos Jr. assured the country’s global development partners that no money will be wasted and the government will continue to heed the advice of its development partners.

“Walang perang sasayangin. Hindi tayo papayag na lustayin ang kaban ng bayan… Be assured that we continue to listen to the concerns and recommendations of our development partners. We are determined to go further,” the President expressed.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also recently claimed that the corrupt officials are not the face of the government but the corruption they engage with. He stressed that there are people in the government who are working hard and giving their best.

“These people are not the face of government. All they are is the face of corruption. That’s all they are. They are not typical of government,” he said.

According to the President, government service is not easy. Based on the report, he stressed that the public cannot judge everyone through the acts of some corrupt officials.

“We cannot paint everyone in government with the same brush as these corrupt operators that you see in government,” Marcos Jr. said.

Previously, amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano proposed the resignation of government officials to pave the way for snap elections. According to him, it will give the Filipino people a clean slate to start with.
