Patients of Cebu Hospital Including Pregnant Woman Evacuate amid Strong Quake
A pregnant woman went into labor and gave birth amid their evacuation from the hospital due to a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Cebu.
Several earthquakes are recorded in the different areas in the Philippines daily but there are some quakes that really bring a different impact because of their intensity. These quake incidents are recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or Phivolcs.

Recently, Cebu was hit by a magnitude 6.9 earthquake and the strong shaking was felt in several cities in the Visayas region. The intensity of the quake caused damages in several properties and many people were forced to evacuate for their safety. According to Phivolcs, the epicenter of the quake was located in Bogo City.

The epicenter of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake was located at 11.10°North, 124.14°East – 019 km North 70° East of City Of Bogo with a depth of focus of 005 kilometer. The quake was tectonic in origin and Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that both damages and aftershocks are expected of the said natural calamity.
Amid the strong earthquake that jolted Cebu, the patients and medical personnel at Cebu City Medical Center were evacuated for their safety. They were brought to the Cebu City Fire Station. Amid the evacuation, a pregnant woman went into labor.

Based on a post of Freeman on social media, the pregnant woman was already due and she went into labor while she was on the sidewalk following the evacuation due to the Cebu earthquake. Meanwhile, a certain Dr. Queen Grasya and her OB-GYNE team assisted the woman in giving birth.
While the circumstances was extra challenging considering the situation and the venue, the labor of the pregnant woman was successful. Based on the post, it was not Dr. Grasya’s first time to assist a laboring patient while on the side of the streets as she already experienced it before.
“My 2nd time nakapaanak og dalan. This, I may say, is one of my unforgettable experiences of 2025,” the doctor wrote.
The 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Cebu unfortunately led to the deaths of many individuals. The following intensities were felt in these areas due to the quake:
