Contractor Couple Curlee, Sarah Discaya Return to DOJ for Case Buildup
SARAH DISCAYA – The controversial contractor and her husband, Curlee, are back at the Department of Justice (DOJ) today for the case buildup amid the flood control mess.
Countless Filipinos are disappointed over the massive flood control corruption in the Philippines. Several contractors and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as well as officials of the government were criticized online amid the issue. Among those who hooked the spotlight amid the issue are the Discayas.
Undeniably, among the contractors linked to the issue, the Discayas are the most popular. Amid the flood control mess, previous interviews of Curlee and Sarah Discaya with Julius Babao and Korina Sanchez wherein they flaunted their lavish lifestyle resurfaced. They have several luxury cars.
However, amid the flood control issue now, the luxury cars of the Discayas are now under the custody of the Bureau of Customs. The contractor licenses of their nine (9) construction firms were also revoked. They were issued subpoena by the Senate for the flood control probe.
In one of the flood control hearings conducted by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, Curlee and Sarah Discaya brought with them a joint affidavit wherein they admitted riding into the alleged “system” of giving kickback to some officials of the government and the DPWH. In their testimony, they accused former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co of allegedly receiving a 30% kickback from the flood control projects.
The Discayas also made kickback allegations against Quezon City Congressman Arjo Atayde, Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro, and Pasig Cong. Roman Romulo. Immediately, Cong. Arjo Atayde denied the accusation of the Discayas. Teodoro and Romulo also junked the claims of the controversial contractors.
Currently, Curlee Discaya remains under the custody of the Senate after he was cited for contempt during the latest flood hearing. He and his wife, Sarah Discaya, recently returned to the Department of Justice for the case buildup amid the flood control issue. Based on a post of GMA News, she even gestured a “finger-heart” upon her arrival at the DOJ.
The Discaya couple arrived from separate vehicles since he’s from the Senate. Previously, countless netizens reacted to Sarah Discaya being caught drinking soda during a Senate hearing.
