PH Braves Heavy Rains brought by #OpongPH, Some Roads Left Flooded
#OPONGPH – You can check here the list of the flooded roads due to the severe tropical storm and the closed road sections today, September 26.
Storm signals no. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are up in several areas in the Philippines today due to typhoon Opong. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Administration or PAGASA, the typhoon has weakend to severe tropical storm today but wind signals no. 3 are up Sorsogon, Masbate, western & southern Camarines Sur, Albay, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, and southern Laguna among others.

Wind signal no. 3 are also up in southern Quezon, Batangas, northern and central Eastern Samar, Northern Leyte, Romblon, and Biliran. Several areas in the country are experiencing heavy rain and strong winds now due to the severe tropical storm.

The heavy downpour brought by #OpongPH in several areas across the nation also resulted to flooded roads. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the following roads are flooded as per the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA:
Parañaque City
- Dr. A. Santos Ave.-Canaynay Ave. Gutter Deep (8 inches): Passable to all type of vehicles
- Mia road Wb Park and Fly. Gutter Deep (8 inches): Passable to all type of vehicles
Pasay City
- Andrews near terminal oval. Gutter Deep (8 inches): Passable to all types of vehicles
Mandaluyong City
- EDSA Shaw tunnel NB. Gutter deep. Passable to all types of vehicles
Manila City
- Roxas P.Ocampo Service road. Gutter deep (8 inches): Passable to all type of vehicles

Aside from the flooded roads due to #OpongPH, there are also road sections that were closed according to the Department of Public Works and Highways. Their temporary closure is due to the combined impact of the current severe tropical storm, the southwest monsoon, and tropical cyclones Mirasol and Nando:
- Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road, along the detour road at the ongoing Annaran Bridge Construction Project (Madalagudug River) at K0661+950, Butao, Calanasan, Apayao due to flooding
- Baguio-Itogon Road, K0263+200, Sitio Goldfield, Barangay Poblacion, Itogon, Benguet due to soil collapse
- Kennon Road as precautionary measure
- Cong. Andres Acop Cosalan Road K0307+400, Sitio Patok, Dopog, Ambangeg, Daklan, Benguet due to soil collapse and fallen trees
- Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes Road, K0346+550-K0346+700, Pabileng, Tabio and K0349+800-K0349+915, Colalo, Mankayan, Benguet due to soil collapse and damaged slope protection
- Pancian-Adams Road, Chainage 18350, Brgy. Poblacion, Sitio Cadisan, Adams, Ilocos Norte due to major slides
- Manila North Road K0345+622, Alambique Bridge, Brgy. San Nicolas, Candon City, Ilocos Sur due to scoured bridge approach
- Urdaneta Junction-Dagupan-Lingayen Road via Tarlac, K0208+090-K0208+900, Brgy. Mayombo, Dagupan City (Puregold to BHF Bank Station) and K0207+400 -K0208+090, Brgy. Carangalaan-Brgy. Mayombo (BPI Bank -Puregold) due to flooding
- Pangasinan – Nueva Vizcaya Road, intermittent section in Brgy. Malico, San Nicolas, Pangasinan due to soil erosion, rockfall, and as precautionary measure
- San Fernando – Bagulin Road Nagyubuyuban Bridge, K0284+753- K0284+770 and K0284+770 – K0284+800, Brgy. Nagyubuyuban, San Fernando City, La Union due to scoured bridge foundation and road cut
- Basco Contracosta Road K0003+191.80 – K0003+214.50 Brgy. San Joaquin due to road cut
- Cagayan-Apayao Road Itawes Overflow Bridge K0519+(-678) – K0519+(-648), Maguilling, Piat, and Itawes Overflow Bridge 2, K0519+(-581) – K0519+(-533), Maguilling, Tuao, in Cagayan due to scoured approach
- Cabagan – Sta. Maria Overflow Bridge, K0451+462 – K0451+942, Brgy. Casibarag Norte, Cabagan, Isabela and Mozzozzin, Sta. Maria, Isabela due to flooding
- Wright-Taft-Borongan Road, K0872+250 LS Brgy. Binaloan, Taft, Eastern Samar due to rock fall.
Based on the report, the DPWH also said that there are road sections with limited access such as the following:
- Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Road, along the detour road at the ongoing Tanglagan Bridge Construction Project (Apayao/Tanglagan River) at K0633+535, Tanglagan, Calanasan, Apayao, passable to only light vehicles due to flooding
- Jct. Santiago – Banayoyo -Lidlida Road – San Emilio Quirinio Road K0388+800 Brgy. Cayus, Quirino, Ilocos Sur due, passable to only light vehicles due to road cut
- Urdaneta Jct’n.-Dagupan- Lingayen Road, K0377+100 and K0375+100-K0376+400 Brgy. Tapuac, K0377+100-K0378+300, Burgos Street-YMCA, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, passable to only heavy vehicles due to flooding
- Pililla Junction – Jala-Jala Road, Mapakla Bridge, K0074+691 in Barangay First District, Jala-Jala, Rizal, passable to only light vehicles due to damaged bridge abutment
- Calamba-Sta. Cruz-Famy Jct. Road K0103+350 to K0103+450, Laguna, passable to only heavy vehicles due to flooding.
