Palace Speaks on Request of Marcos Jr. To Concerned Agencies over Flood Control Mess
MARCOS JR. – Malacañang said the President urges the concerned agencies to ensure that the evidence against all the individuals involved in the flood control issue is sufficient.
Countless Filipinos were left dismayed after some officials of the government are linked to the flood control mess in the Philippines now. The multi-billion flood control issue is being investigated by the Senate and the Independent Commission for Infrastructure that Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered to be created.

Marcos Jr. ordered the creation of the independent probe team with the power to move for the seizure of assets as well as the issuance of subpoena to compel individuals to attend the investigation. Aside from the ICI, the Senate continued with its investigation on the flood control issue.

Several officials of the government and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were accused by controversial contractors Pacifico and Cezarah Discaya of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects. They accused the following:
- former House Speaker and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez
- Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co
- Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde
- Pasig Cong. Roman Romulo
- Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro

During the Senate flood probes, several senators and former senators were also accused of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects. Here are the senators and former senators that former DPWH engineers Brice Hernandez and Henry Alcantara and former DPWH Usec. Roberto Bernardo tagged in their testimonies:
- Sen. Jinggoy Estrada
- Sen. Joel Villanueva
- Former Sen. Bong Revilla
- Sen. Chiz Escudero
- Former Sen. Nancy Binay
Based on a report on GMA News, Bernardo also pinned down Co. However, the Representative is still in abroad and has yet to return to the Philippines despite the order of House Speaker Bojie Dy. Recently, Malacañang spoke on the order of Marcos Jr. over the flood control mess in the country.

According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, Marcos Jr. wants the concerned agencies to ensure that there is sufficient evidence against the individuals who are involved in the anomalous flood control projects in the country.
”Ngunit may tagubilin ang Pangulo – tiyakin na sapat ang ebidensiya upang hindi makawala ang mga tunay na taksil sa interes ng taumbayan,” Castro said.
Former DPWH Usec. Roberto Bernardo claimed in his testimony that around P160 million kickback from the flood control projects was allegedly meant for former Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero.
