Pastor Elicits Backlash for Hitting Some Students in School For Failing to Meet His Standard
A pastor in Taytay has come under heavy criticism online after a video surfaced showing him hitting students inside a school.
Schools are meant to be a second home for children, while pastors are seen as spiritual leaders expected to guide with compassion.
Recently, Paul Mateo, a Facebook user, shared a video of a pastor hitting several students inside a school. The post quickly went viral and elicited various reactions from netizens who condemned the act.
In the video, students can be seen being struck for reasons that remain unclear. Reports from parents and students later revealed that some children were also forced to kneel and were hit on the buttocks simply for failing to meet the pastor’s standards.
The incident was an example of physical and verbal abuse, leaving students not only hurt but also traumatized.
Parents expressed anger and disappointment, pointing out that instead of building discipline and values, the pastor became the very source of fear and pain. Many internet sers questioned how such actions could ever be justified, especially inside a learning institution.
The pastor, identified as Raffy Ciocon, is currently on leave of absence following the backlash. However, concerned parents and netizens are urging that this not be treated as a simple cooling-off measure.
The parents are calling for his permanent removal from the school and for accountability to be pursued so that justice can be given to the affected children.
