Are you one of the Filipinos who usually check the list of holidays ahead of time? While there are still several holidays left in the list of Philippine holidays 2025, you might be one of those who are excited for what is in store ahead of us. Malacañang has already released the official list.

Like what usually happens, there are several regular holidays and special non-working days in the country in the list of the 2026 holidays in the Philippines. Most regular holidays were retained in the same type of holiday wherein classes in schools in all levels are suspended.

During a regular holiday, work in both the public and private sectors are also suspended. Government offices are really close during regular holidays but the employees are still entitled to a 100% pay based on their basic daily salary.

In the case of the private companies that remain operational even on a regular holiday, employees who report to work are entitled for an additional pay as per the Labor Code. A worker who works for eight (8) hours on a regular holiday is entitled to receive 200% of her basic daily salary as the way for the day.

  • January 1 (Thursday) — New Year’s Day
  • April 2 — Maundy Thursday
  • April 3 — Good Friday
  • April 9 (Thursday) — Araw ng Kagitingan
  • May 1 (Friday) — Labor Day
  • June 12 (Friday) — Independence Day
  • August 31 (Monday) —  National Heroes Day
  • November 30 (Monday) — Bonifacio Day
  • December 25 (Friday) — Christmas Day
  • December 30 (Wednesday) — Rizal Day

There are several types of holidays in the Philippines annually. The other most popular type aside from the regular holiday is the special non-working day. Classes in schools are also suspended during this type of holiday but there is a different extra pay rate for workers who will report to duty.

Based on the Labor rules, workers who report to duty will get an extra pay that is equivalent to 30% of their basic daily salary. For employees who will be absent on a special non-working day, the “no work, no pay” scheme will be implemented. Here are the special non-working days in the list of the 2026 holidays in the Philippines:

  • August 21 (Friday) — Ninoy Aquino Day
  • November 1 (Sunday) — All Saints Day
  • December 8 (Tuesday) — Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
  • December 31 (Thursday) — Last Day of the Year
  • February 17 (Tuesday)  — Chinese New Year
  • April 4 — Black Saturday
  • November 2 (Monday) — All Souls’ Day
  • December 24 (Thursday) — Christmas Eve
