Among the circulating issues linked to Gerald are claims that he supposedly has a child with actress Arci Muñoz and another with singer Gigi De Lana. In the latest episode of Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update, the host slammed the spread of these alleged false stories.
According to Ogie, several online posts claim that Gerald and Gigi were secretly married, and that the actor allegedly fathered children with both Arci and Gigi. “Dire-diretso sila ha, dire-diretso silang naglalabas ng mga fake news,” he said, visibly frustrated with the nonstop and baseless gossip.
He added that even if these reports are clearly fake, some netizens may still believe them, especially if they fail to check the credibility of the source. Ogie also revealed that clicking on the comment sections of such posts often redirects users to online shopping sites rather than legitimate news articles.
As a result, he suspects that celebrity names are being used solely to attract traffic and generate income. He reminded the public to report such pages to help stop the spread of misinformation. “Feeling ko meron talagang isang grupo na sumisira kay Gerald,” Ogie added, expressing concern that there might be a deliberate effort to tarnish the actor’s image.
Ogie also made a direct appeal to Anderson: “Kaya dapat ito, nililinaw na rin ni Gerald Anderson. Na once and for all linawin na niya yung mga lumalabas na ito… Halata mo talagang peke.”
In closing, Ogie stressed the importance of being discerning online and avoiding clickbait traps. For him, it is far better to rely on credible news sources than to be misled by sensational but unverified headlines.
