Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Budget Proposal Approvals
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President, during his recent State of the Nation Address (SONA), vowed that he will not sign budget proposals that are not in line with government plans.
Pres. Marcos recently delivered his 4th SONA before the 20th Congress and the Filipino people. During the Marcos SONA 2025, he mentioned the different projects and accomplishments of his administration during the half of his term.
Marcos Jr. also mentioned the plans of his admin in the remaining three (3) years of his term. He vowed that the government will help more Filipinos including businessmen like lending them working capitals. According to him, the government also targets to finish the construction of 200 electric plants to empower electricity supply.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos also assured the public that his administration keeps education at the center of their priorities. According to him, more classrooms will be built and the laptops for the public school teachers have already arrived. He also vowed that there will be extra pay for the excess workload and the overtime work of the educators.
The President has also called on the corrupt government officials who pocket money from the government projects. He stressed that the government will run after the corrupt officials citing that many Filipinos are affected by such practices.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also mentioned during his SONA 2025 about budget proposal approvals. According to the Chief Executive, he would “return any proposed General Appropriations Bill that is not fully aligned with the National Expenditure Program”.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos also assured the Filipino people that he will not approve any budget proposal that is not in line with the plans of the government for the people. Based on the report, his statement came after approving the P6.793 trillion budget proposed for 2026.
“Hindi ko aaprubahan ang kahit anong budget na hindi alinsunod sa plano ng gobyerno para sa sambayanang Pilipino,” the President said.
During his SONA 2025, Pres. Bongbong Marcos lightened the mood at the event when he mentioned PNP chief Nicolas Torre III as the ‘new boxing champ’. It drew laughter and smiles from the audience and even the President himself chuckled at his joke.
PNP chief Police General Nicolas Torre III also laughed at the President’s joke and stood to acknowledge him. He was recently hailed a “winner by default” in a charity boxing match against acting Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte.
Many senators and members of the House of Representatives attended the annual event. However, aside from the Duterte siblings and allies, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos did not attend the 4th SONA of her brother.
