Sara Duterte on Bongbong Marcos: “Hindi siya weak leader”

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Hits Pres. Bongbong Marcos Anew

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly not a weak leader but one who pretends to be kind.

The rift between the highest and the second-highest officials in the government in the Philippines is not secret to the Filipino people. Since she left the Marcos Cabinet in 2024, the Vice President has been throwing tirades against the Chief Executive. Usually, it is the Palace who speaks on his behalf.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently claimed that the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is the result of a collusion between the Marcos admin and the ICC (International Criminal Court). According to her, the government allegedly does not want an opposition and her father, prior to his arrest, was the “foremost staunch critic” of the administration.

Previously, Pres. Marcos and Malacañang stressed that the government acted on Duterte’s arrest in lieu of its commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). The Chief Executive also said that the issue between his predecessor and the ICC is already present even before he came into the picture.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte previously called Pres. Bongbong Marcos a “weak leader” and a “spoiled brat”. According to the then Chief Executive, he is not impressed by Marcos Jr. who is spoiled being the only son of his parents.

Contrary to her father’s statement, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently claimed that she views Pres. Bongbong Marcos as not a weak leader. According to her, the Chief Executive allegedly wants to pretend that he is kind and he is not like his father, the late former dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte further claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly wants to make himself an image of a “low-key” leader. However, according to the second-highest official in the country, she sees no successful project of the Marcos administration.

Duterte said of PBBM.

Zambales First District Representative Jay Khonghun was quick to be in the defense of Pres. Bongbong Marcos against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte‘s remarks. According to him, the Chief Executive is the kind of leader who does not need to intimate or lie to get attention.

Vice Pres. Duterte called on the ICC anew for the release of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. She called on the foreign court to stop meddling in the Philippines. Based on a report on GMA News, Duterte’s camp has asked the ICC to temporarily stop on deciding over the interim release bid of the former President as they await some documents to support his appeal.
