Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Visits Dad Rodrigo in ICC Detention Facility
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman claimed that his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is against the selling of his house in Davao City.
The Duterte family hails from Davao City. Currently, several members of the popular political clan are holding government positions in Davao. Amid his detention in The Hague, Netherlands, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte even won as mayor of Davao City.
However, since he has yet to take his oath and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) previously insisted that he has to be physically in office to perform his duties, Davao Vice Mayor Baste Duterte is currently the acting mayor in the city. His older brother, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte, was also reelected in his position.
Two (2) grandsons of the former President also won positions in the government in Davao. However, recently, countless people were surprised when a “for sale” sign was placed outside the house of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City. His long-time partner, Honeylet Avanceña, confirmed the selling of their home at Doña Luisa Village Phase 1.
According to Honeylet, she is the only one who visits the said house in Davao from time to time and she is hurt whenever she does. She stressed that there are four (4) house helpers in the house with no master. The lawyers also advised the installation of CCTVs even in the bedroom, thus, she does not sleep there anymore.
Honeylet did not disclose the selling price of the residential property. However, many people were left in doubt when the “for sale” sign was lifted. Many people were confused if the Dutertes have changed their mind or the property is already sold.
Recently, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte does not want his house in Davao sold. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Congressman Pulong has recently visited his father inside the ICC detention facility in The Hague again.
According to Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte, they asked former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte if he is selling his house in Davao and the former Chief Executive answered in the negative. Based on the report, the former President’s son also said that the property is his father’s first house.
“Amo siyang gipangutana kung ibaligya ba daw ang balay — dili gyud daw. Kana iyang balay, mao daw na ang iyang unang balay, ug dili gyud siya gusto nga ibaligya na,” the younger Duterte said.
Based on the report, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte also clarified that the house is different from the property of Honeylet Avanceña. He stressed that his father’s long-time partner has her own huge house.
The Davao Congressman shared that former Pres. Duterte is fine inside the ICC detention facility and does not want the Filipinos to worry about him. The former President is also joking around as per his son. Recently, the lawyer of Duterte requested for the ex-president’s ICC interim release.
