Based on a report on GMA News, Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Nicolas Torre III announced that bullying cases in schools may now be reported to the PNP hotline 911. The new PNP Chief has reportedly ordered the cops to look out for street crimes as well as bullying cases as classes resume across the nation.

According to Torre, after reporting a bullying case to the PNP through the hotline 911, a local police station with jurisdiction in the concerned school will get in touch with the school authorities. He vowed to ensure that there will be no bullying cases in schools.

“We are coordinating with schools. Sisiguraduhin natin na walang bullying,” the PNP Chief said.

Based on the report, new PNP chief Police Gen. Nicolas Torre III has also ordered the police units to look after the students who may fall victim to crimes. Previously, Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara said that “all systems go” for the opening of classes.

Following his assignment to a new post, new PNP chief Nicolas Torre III said that there would be a fair implementation of laws under his lead and the police will move swiftly. Pres. Bongbong Marcos challenged him to keep the police ranks honorable.

However, on the other side, outgoing Davao Mayor Baste Duterte claimed that Torre’s appointment as PNP chief is allegedly based on “favor” and not merit.
