Heaven Peralejo Wins Best Actress at Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Japan
HEAVEN PERALEJO – Actress Heaven Peralejo’s powerful performance in Lilim earned her global recognition, solidifying her status as a rising force in Philippine cinema.
Filipina actress Heaven Peralejo has earned international acclaim after winning Best Actress at the prestigious Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival held in Nagoya, Japan. Peralejo was recognized for her standout performance in the horror film Lilim, directed by renowned filmmaker Mikhail Red.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on May 25, Peralejo expressed her gratitude, writing, “Still in disbelief. Thank you for seeing me. Thank you for hearing me.” She dedicated her award to her director, the production team at Evolve Studios, and her mother, Luanne Peralejo. “We did it,” she proudly declared.

Peralejo also extended heartfelt thanks to Viva Films for entrusting her with the lead role and supporting her throughout the creative journey. “To be recognized for something I love with all my heart—it means the world,” she said, reflecting on the honor.
During her acceptance speech, the actress gave a touching tribute to those who supported her during moments of self-doubt. “This is for the people who believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself,” she said, drawing admiration from fans and fellow artists alike.
Lilim, a psychological horror film, also brought accolades to director Mikhail Red, who received the Best Director award at the same event. The film features a stellar cast that includes Eula Valdez, Ryza Cenon, Mon Confiado, and Skywalker David.
The movie had its world premiere at the 54th International Film Festival Rotterdam in the Netherlands earlier this year before debuting in Philippine cinemas in March. Peralejo’s portrayal in Lilim has since been widely praised for its emotional depth and gripping intensity.
This international recognition marks a major milestone in Heaven Peralejo’s career, solidifying her status as one of the most promising talents in Philippine cinema today.
