Amid renewed public scrutiny following the death of her mother, Philippine cinema icon Nora Aunor, actress Lotlot de Leon has taken a firm stance against what she describes as malicious attacks on their family’s reputation. De Leon, through her legal counsel, has announced plans to pursue legal remedies to protect her and her late mother’s dignity.
In a statement shared via her Instagram Story, De Leon revealed that she has enlisted the services of Estur & Associates Law Firm, with Atty. Mark Julius C. Estur representing her in all legal matters related to the ongoing controversies. The firm stressed that recent events have cast De Leon in a “false light,” prompting their decision to take a stand against defamatory content and online harassment.
“In light of this development, Atty. Estur respectfully requests that the public and media respect Ms. de Leon’s right to privacy,” the statement emphasized. While acknowledging the public’s interest in the personal lives of De Leon and her siblings—Ian, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko—the legal team underscored her right to personal boundaries.
Atty. Estur asserted that as Nora Aunor’s eldest daughter, Lotlot holds the responsibility to uphold her mother’s dignity. The statement also warned that any form of cyberbullying, defamation, or invasion of privacy would be met with legal action.
The legal counsel concluded with a powerful reminder: “There will always be different narratives and perspectives, but the truth will always prevail.”
The timing of this legal move comes as speculation continues to swirl online, intensified by Lotlot’s recent cryptic social media posts alluding to “truth” and people who “use others.” These posts followed comments from John Rendez, a longtime friend of Aunor, who claimed he felt unwelcome during the actress’s burial.
