BATO DELA ROSA – The Senator said President Bongbong Marcos should deport the alleged International Criminal Court (ICC) investigators in the country if he is really sincere over his “reconciliation” remarks.

One of the allies of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the political arena is Sen. Dela Rosa. He was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) when Duterte was president. This 2025 Elections, he sought reelection as a member of the Senate.

Sen. Bato dela Rosa was one of the senatorial candidates in the slate of the PDP-Laban, the political party of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The former President is the chairman of the party. The children of former Pres. Duterte fervently campaigned for the PDP-Laban or the #Duter10 as requested by the former President amid his detention in The Hague, Netherlands.

Sen. Bato dela Rosa made it to the Top 12 and attributed his huge votes in the senatorial race to the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. He ranked third in the results of the senatorial race. He thanked the Duterte supporters for the “protest votes” and stressed that his win “came with a very heavy price” — the arrest of the former President.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands for more than a month now. He is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC). Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she and Sen. Bato dela Rosa is included in the ICC list of persons who might be arrested.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos expressed that he is open to reconcile with the Duterte family. The President was heavily-blamed over the arrest of the former President. Several Filipinos believe that the arrest won’t happen without the go signal of the Chief Executive. Marcos Jr. faced “betrayal” accusations.

Sen. Bato dela Rosa reacted to the “reconciliation” remarks of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to him, the President should prove his sincerity by deporting the alleged ICC investigators in the country. Based on a post on News5, he further claimed that the ICC investigators allegedly force the police to testify.

“Ang pinakaunang gawin ni Pangulong Marcos dapat, palayasin niya ‘yan, i-deport niya ‘yang ICC investigators na ‘yan na andito ngayon na nananakot sa ating mga kapulisan na magtestigo. ‘Yan ang dapat niyang gawin kung siya ay sinsero sa kanyang reconciliation na hinahangad,” the Senator said.

Previously, following the several instance of a change of stance, Sen. Bato dela Rosa said he is ready to go anytime if an arrest warrant will be issued against him by the ICC.
