Statement of Malacañang on Courtesy Resignation Call of Pres. Bongbong Marcos
Malacañang believes that the courtesy resignation call of President Bongbong Marcos is a chance for the Cabinet secretaries to prove their place in the administration.
Countless Filipinos were surprised when Marcos Jr. called for a courtesy resignation of all his Cabinet secretaries. According to the President, the people have spoken and the government must act on it. He wants a recalibration of his administration following the 2025 Elections results.

Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos expressed his realizations from the outcome of the 2025 Elections. According to him, based on the results of the elections, he believes that the Filipino people are tired of politicking. He also expressed his belief that the election results also show that the people are not satisfied with the services provided by the government.

Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero admired the humility of Pres. Bongbong Marcos on his realizations from the results of the 2025 Elections. He stressed that now is the time to build bridges and get back to work. A few days since the President made the statement, he called for a courtesy resignation among the members of his Cabinet.

Recently, Malacañang spoke on the courtesy resignation call of Pres. Bongbong Marcos among his Cabinet secretaries. Based on a report on Inquirer, the Palace assures the Filipino people that the move for the recalibration of the Marcos Cabinet will not affect the services of the government.
Furthermore, Malacañang also stressed that the lazy and corrupt secretaries have no place in the Cabinet of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro, the recalibration is an opportunity for the Cabinet secretaries to prove their place in the administration.
“Mas maganda po ito na mapakita rin ng ating mga heads of agencies, Cabinet secretaries na sila ay naaayon sa goal ng Pangulo. Ipakita nila na sila ay dapat manatili bilang parte ng administrasyon ng ating Pangulo,” she said.

Castro further stressed that the recalibration is not just an issue about the performance of the Cabinet secretaries but as well as a way to determine if there are anomalies in the way they handled the government agencies. Previously, Marcos Jr. stressed that “it’s time to realign government with the people’s expectations”.
Based on the report, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero sees the recalibration as a way for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to “distance himself from reckless allies who squandered his goodwill”. Several Cabinet secretaries have already tendered their courtesy resignation following the call of the Chief Executive.
Previously, on erring government officials, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that he wants to be respected but fear maybe better.
