Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks To Philippine Navy Officials, Members
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President said the country will never tolerate “any act of disrespect” on its sovereignty as a nation.
Pres. Marcos was previously criticized over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He was arrested by the Philippine authorities last March 11 and was sent to The Hague, Netherlands for the transfer of his custody under the International Criminal Court (ICC). It earned Marcos Jr. criticisms and accusations of allegedly betraying the sovereignty of the country. Sovereignty refers to the power or authority of a state to govern itself.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos must be held accountable over the arrest of her father. According to her, Marcos Jr. allegedly betrayed the Filipino people and it is an impeachable offense. As for the Palace, the President did not commit any form of betrayal as the government only did its job and acted on its commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

Recently, amid the previous accusations that he allegedly neglected the sovereignty of the country when he allowed the transfer of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s custody to the ICC, Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke about protecting the sovereignty of the country before the members of the Philippine Navy. Based on a report on GMA News, he graced the 127th founding anniversary of the PH Navy with his presence.

Based on the report, at the founding anniversary celebration of the Philippine Navy, Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that the Philippines will never allow anyone to disrespect the sovereignty of the country. The President also said that there is nothing to surrender nor neglect.
“We will never tolerate any act of disrespect against our sovereignty. Wala tayong isusuko, wala tayong pababayaan,” he said.
Based on report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos vowed protection on the maritime zones of the nation by his administration. He also ensured that his administration will safeguard the rights of the country on these areas based on the international law.
According to the President, the country honors its commitment being a member of the international community. He stressed the importance of the international law and assured that his administration will continue to ensure that the Armed Forces of the Philippines is ready for the future.
“We reaffirm our commitment to being a responsible member of the international community engaging in all matters diplomatically and upholding the established principles under International law,” Marcos said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos commended the Philippine Navy for the role they played that contributed to an orderly election last May 12. Recently, Marcos Jr. admitted his realizations from the results of the 2025 Elections.
