Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks about Being Respected, Feared by Erring Officials

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President spoke about the importance of being feared by the government officials to avoid misconduct.

Many of the biggest jobs in the government lies in the country’s leader, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, who recently claimed that he does not want conflicts, thus, he is open to reconcile with the Dutertes. Recently, aside from talking about the issues and the gaps in the political arena, the Chief Executive revealed his take on the erring officials of the government.

Undeniably, there are a lot of reports about erring officials in the government. The political arena is also filled will issues of alleged corruption and other misconducts. In the BBM podcast, Pres. Bongbong Marcos recently admitted his consideration of being feared by the officials of the government.

According to Marcos Jr., he wants to be respected but he believes that being feared may possibly be better to prevent the government officials from committing misconduct. His statement came on the alleged disobedience of the government officials because of his “kindness”.

“I want to be respected but maybe fear is better,” the President expressed.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted that he could no longer change his nature but he believes that being stricter is needed to get through the bureaucratic delays in the projects of the government that are done on a long-term basis.

“Many people tell me that. So what am I supposed to do? Become a bad person? I can’t change my nature anymore,” he said.

On the first thing that he did, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he ordered for an increase of the police visibility in the areas where safety and security are top concerns. He revealed that he has already instructed the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) about it.

“So the first thing we did was order the DILG and the Chief of the PNP—I told them there should always be police officers visible and patrolling on foot. Because over time, people get to recognize them,” the President expressed.

Aside from the political arena, Pres. Bongbong Marcos is also faced with issues over his ties with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who is now faced with an impeachment trial.
