Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, former Sen. Manny Pacquiao is set to fight American boxer Mario Barrios in July 2025 for his WBC welterweight title. The match is set to be held in Las Vegas.

Furthermore, based on the report, the Pacquiao-Barrios fight aligns with the scheduled induction of the boxing champion-turned-politician into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June. Prior to his upcoming fight with the 29-year-old boxer, Pacman lost to Cuban Yordenis Ugas for the WBA welterweight title in 2021 via a unanimous 12-round decision.

Despite his election loss and his return to boxing, Pacquiao assured that his fight and service will continue. Aside from Pres. Bongbong Marcos, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo also endorsed Pacquiao for senator.
