Presumptive Senator Bam Aquino Admits Surprised over Senate Election Result
BAM AQUINO – Amid ranking second in the 2025 Senatorial Election result, the presumptive Senator credited the Youth for his win.
Last Monday, May 12, both local and national elections were held. Several former senators sought for a Senate comeback to the Senate through the recent elections. Aquino was one of them.
As early as 9:00 p.m. on the Election Day, former Sen. Bam Aquino ranked second in the partial and unofficial result of the Senatorial Election and the trend never waivered. Undeniably, former Sen. Aquino and former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan making it to the Top 12 took the social media platforms by storm.
Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is also elated over the election win of former senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan. She endorsed the senatorial bets and even campaigned for them personally not only before the Nagueños but as well as the Ilonggos. The former Vice President also won mayor in Naga City.
Currently, 99.12% of the election returns has been transmitted based on the media server of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). Out of 69,773,653 voters, a total of 56,962,688 votes is in. Presumptive Sen. Aquino remains on the second spot with 20,895,171 votes.
Recently, presumptive Sen. Bam Aquino spoke on his very good standing in the 2025 Senatorial Election results. Based on a report on PhilStar, in a phone interview, the former Senator who championed the Free Tuition Law admitted that he did not expect the results.
“Totally unexpected but we will take it!” he expressed.
Former Sen. Bam Aquino also credited the Filipino youth over his good standing in the 2025 Senatorial Election result. According to him, the youth did not only supported him with their votes but as well as campaigned for him.
“We are overwhelmed and surprised… They [youth] didn’t only vote for me, they campaigned heavily (for me),” he said.
Aquino only placed second in one survey conducted in the Ateneo University for the Mock Election. He ranked next to presumptive senator Kiko Pangilinan who occupied the 5th spot in the partial and unofficial result of the 2025 Senatorial Election.
Based on the report, the mother of former Sen. Bam Aquino, Melanie, was the first person he thanked when he realized that his bid for a Senate comeback is a success. He stressed that his mother is his “best campaigner”.
Bam is the cousin of Kris Aquino. He is the son of the late former Sen. Ninoy Aquino’s youngest brother, Paul. According to him, his parents never pressured him and it is just that striving hard and doing good in school were valued in their house.
Several showbiz celebrities supported the senatorial bid of presumptive Senator Bam Aquino and Anne Curtis is one of them. Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda also campaigned for Aquino.
